This mission is to build a vehicle that protects your
eggnaut a risk of reentry. The aim is that this eggnaut survive the flight and
landing without be broken. This activity is specially designed for students
from fifth grade through third ESO, which are responsible for building the
eggnaut, and fourth ESO and Baccalaureate responsible for building the landing
zone for eggnaut. I selected this project because I think the most fun and
interesting to both young and old. Besides serving for fun, has some aspects of
study where students can learn and work on them.

As you have seen they are easily available and easy to work
with them materials. The rules that are set in this task are:
1.
The reentry system must fit in a volume of:
Group 1 – 30 cm. x 30 cm. x 30 cm.
Group 2 – 20 cm. x 20 cm. x 20 cm.
2.
Parachutes and helicopters are allowed
3.
You can use a plumb line to guide the re-entry system
to the area of recovery.
4.
All parts of the system must be reentrant above
height reentry:
Group 1 - 2-3 m
Group 2 - 3-5 m
5.
Mass reentry system should not exceed:
Group 1 - 400g
Group 2 - 300g
6.
Reentry system has to land as close to the
center of the area reentry.
7.
Not mandatory to use all of the above materials.
The rules
are pretty clear and the students of this age can understand perfectly.
Areas of study:
1.
How I can design my re-entry system (the
capsule) to protect eggnaut?
2.
What can I put in my re-entry system to make
sure it lands in the center of the target area?
3.
How can I do to slow it down?
4.
What Newton's laws of motion apply to the
capsule and eggnaut?
5.
Draw a floor plan of your system and explain how
it will work and why.
6.
Present a report of the test results and explain
Group 1 - Why it happened and how you
corrected.
Group 2 - Why do you think that occurred
and how it could improve the system design.
STUDENTS OF 4th OF E.S.O AND BACHELOR
His team is
responsible for designing and building a landing area on a small scale, to be
used in case of an emergency extraction of the new orbital eggnaut system. The
landing area must prevent casque eggnaut is where acceleration due to gravity
at a distance of one meter or more.
Materials:
1. 10 sheets of notebook paper or 10
sheets of 21 x 29.7 cm.
2. 30 cm. of tape
3. An eggnaut (raw egg category A)
4. Plummet for aiming (meter stick)
5. Plasticine or similar recipe (a
piece of 50-60 g to make an egg; chipping notches =)
6. Balance of triple shaft
Specifications:
1.
You
can only use these materials but not required to use them all.
2.
The
egg landing area should be kept alone. No need to be tied to anything and
nobody has to hold.
